About Our Chapter
We believe reading always has been - and always will be- a powerful step toward a life of enduring impact. One in four children are functionally illiterate and we believe that this is one too many. Our women pride themselves on the immense amount of hands-on work they do to help end illiteracy in the local community. We have held book drives with both the Virginia Tech Men's Baseball and Soccer teams where over 800 books were donated by the team and fans in attendance. Each year, our chapter also participates in the "Champions Are Readers" program and visits local elementary schools to work with the students.
Our sisters are lucky to attend a school that is so centered around community. Through working together in our organization, with other organizations, in the classroom, and around campus, we grow our bonds as sisters and reach our fullest potential. With the strong and steady support of our sisterhood, we accomplish our goals and encourage each other to do the same.
